Reptilian brain · Urgency & Deception Tactics
Interface Authority Emulation
Designing a commercial page, letter or portal to look like a government, court, bank or platform notice so that the buyer complies before evaluating.
An everyday example
A 'final notice' envelope from a warranty seller styled like a tax letter; a pop-up mimicking an operating-system security alert.
What it can cost you
Obeying a costume.
Warning signs
- It looks official and it is urgent.
- I was about to click the link inside it.
One thing to do
Verify the sender independently — type the official address yourself, never follow the link in the message — and treat urgency plus official styling as a fraud signal.
