The manual

Every tool, and what it's actually for

Decision IQ isn't a quiz with extras bolted on. It's one loop — Discover, Design, Build, Run — and every mode below is a step inside it. Here's what each one does, why it exists, and when to reach for it.

1. Discover

Where do you actually get moved?

Surface your actual patterns and blind spots from real data, not one quiz.

2. Design

What kind of decision-maker do you want to be?

Turn the diagnosis into your own strategy — rules you wrote and own.

3. Build

What will you reach for in the moment?

Construct the tools you'll actually use when the decision arrives.

4. Run

How did it go, really?

Execute on real decisions, then log what happened so the loop closes.

1. Discover

Surface your actual patterns and blind spots from real data, not one quiz.

01

Self audit

Open

An adaptive interview about one real situation you're in. It asks follow-ups until it has enough evidence, then grades your exposure across all six brains.

Why it exists
A single quiz can't tell which system is carrying your decision. Questions that adapt can.
When to use it
First visit, or any time something big is on the table and you can't tell why you want it.
What you get
A graded exposure report per brain, the mechanisms in play, and specific counter-moves.
Access
Free to run. Sign up to see the full report and keep it.
04

Quick check

Open

Paste an ad, a DM, a pitch, a contract clause, a landing page. It names the tactics inside and scores the pressure.

Why it exists
Most manipulation arrives as text. This is the fastest possible read on a single artefact.
When to use it
Thirty seconds before you reply, click, or sign.
What you get
A pressure score, named tactics with the brain each targets, and what to say back.
Access
One free check for guests. Unlimited and saved with an account.
08

Bias profile

Open

Pattern-mining across everything you've done here — audits, checks, simulator rounds, outcomes — into one versioned profile.

Why it exists
One session is an anecdote. Ten sessions is a pattern, and the pattern is the actual vulnerability.
When to use it
After you've generated a few signals, then roughly monthly.
What you get
Your standing weak brains, recurring mechanisms, and a diff against your last version.
Access
Account required — it's built from your saved history.

2. Design

Turn the diagnosis into your own strategy — rules you wrote and own.

02

Encyclopedia

Open

The full 6BRAINS reference: every mechanism with a definition, a business example, a daily-life example, recognisable signs, protection tactics, and peer-reviewed citations.

Why it exists
You can't defend against something you can't name. Naming is the whole first step.
When to use it
When a tactic felt off but you couldn't articulate it — or to study one brain deliberately.
What you get
Entry-level understanding you can reuse; entries surfaced against your profile first.
Access
Three entries open to everyone. After that it stays free, you just need an account.
09

Design studio

Open

A guided writing session that turns your diagnosis into a decision charter — your own if-then rules, in your words.

Why it exists
Advice you were given gets ignored. Rules you wrote get followed.
When to use it
Once you know your patterns and want to commit to how you'll handle them.
What you get
A saved, editable charter of personal decision rules.
Access
Free to start a session. Account required to save the charter.

3. Build

Construct the tools you'll actually use when the decision arrives.

10

Toolkit builder

Open

Builder for reusable checklists, per decision category — big purchases, job moves, relationships, money, and more.

Why it exists
In the moment you won't recall a framework. You will run a checklist that's already open.
When to use it
For any decision you face repeatedly and keep handling differently.
What you get
A short, category-specific checklist pre-filled from your charter and profile.
Access
Account required to save and reuse toolkits.

4. Run

Execute on real decisions, then log what happened so the loop closes.

03

AI advisor

Open

A real-time copilot for one pending decision. It interviews you, then reasons against the encyclopedia and your profile.

Why it exists
Live decisions need a second reader who knows both the tactics and your specific blind spots.
When to use it
Mid-decision, when you're being pushed and you need a read before you answer.
What you get
A read on who's influencing you and how, plus your next concrete move.
Access
Two free turns as a guest. Full sessions with an account.
06

Decision simulator

Open

Timed scenarios with tactics planted inside. You spot them; difficulty rises from rookie to operator.

Why it exists
Recognition is a trained reflex, not knowledge. Reflexes need reps.
When to use it
Between real decisions — ten minutes of practice is worth an hour of reading.
What you get
Round scores that feed your profile and weight future rounds toward weak brains.
Access
Play unlimited as a guest. Account required to save scores.
07

Circles

Open

A small private group. Share your Decision IQ, compare brain-level strengths, and request a second opinion on a pending decision.

Why it exists
Your blind spot is usually someone else's obvious. Ask before you commit, not after.
When to use it
Before an irreversible decision, or to keep a standing group honest.
What you get
Second opinions from people who can see your profile, and group-level comparison.
Access
Account required — circles are identity-bound.
05

12-month program

Open

A twelve-month curriculum: two months per brain, with checkpoints that feed your profile.

Why it exists
Depth beats breadth. One system at a time is how this actually sticks.
When to use it
When you want structured progress rather than reactive checks.
What you get
Sequenced lessons, checkpoints, and measurable movement across a year.
Access
Curriculum fully browsable by anyone. Account required to enrol and track.
11

Outcome log

Open

The reflection log. About a week after a decision, you record what you actually did and whether you kept your own rules.

Why it exists
Without outcomes, the loop never closes and the profile never improves. This is where the system learns you.
When to use it
Seven days after any decision you ran through Decision IQ.
What you get
A closed loop: outcome data that sharpens your next profile version.
Access
Account required — it's a personal log over time.

Where to start

If something is on the table right now, run the self audit. If you just want to see the machinery, paste something into Quick check or browse the encyclopedia. Everything explorable is free; the parts that remember you need an account.

11 modes, one loop. Run closes back into Discover.
