Freeze-and-Faint Reaction
When escape seems impossible the system can shut down instead of surging: freezing, going blank, fainting, or not remembering. Under pressure it looks like agreement, because a frozen person does not object.
An everyday example
Sitting silent through an ambush meeting and later realising you nodded to everything.
What it can cost you
Silence read as consent; decisions made by default while you were absent.
Warning signs
- I could not speak and they took it as agreement.
- I do not remember what I agreed to.
One thing to do
Treat freezing as a signal that the situation is unsafe for deciding: say 'I will come back to you on this' and leave.
